texas trip number 3

this past weekend my mom and i took annie and emily for a long weekend to san antonio. every time we have driven there we go a different way, and i think we finally found the best route.

while we were there we had a miss america party.

these were our activities:

-coloring
-making necklaces
-decorating tiaras with stickers
-making hair ribbon things
-watching the pagaent
-eating pizza pizza
-drinking shirley temples with a crazy straw
-decorating cupcakes...strawberry of course
-dance party!
-putting on make-up
-doing fun hair-dos
-painting fingernails
-cleaning fingernail polish out of the carpet...did you know that windex gets it out? neither did i! shaving cream also works, but not fingernail polish remover...which is what you think would work.

thom decided to get out of the house and go to the movies, so it was an all girls night!

the next day cailin asked me to do another scavenger hunt for them. the last time we took alex i did 3 scavenger hunts because they were having so much fun! the funny thing is that a lot of the clues included them cleaning and doing school work!

this time the clues said that a silly monster had stolen annabel's penguin and we needed help finding it.
one of the clues had them crawl under all of the dining room chairs that were in a straight line. they had to spin around in a chair and walk a straight line, and about 18 other activities. we made a fort and finger puppets. later that night they put on a play with the finger puppets.





























i am so blessed to be their aunt!!

the scariest driveway on the planet

for months now i have been wanting to get some footage of my brother's driveway.

while we were there over christmas i finally accomplished that goal.

the sad thing is that it doesn't really even do it justice.

update on cold tangerines...

i recently told y'all about a book i was reading called cold tangerines. scroll down a couple of posts and you can see the cover of it.

this book might be one of my favorite books ever. largely impart to the way the author writes. she writes like she is just talking to you. obviously i am a big fan of that because i tend to do it myself. my brain doesn't form eloquent sentences at the strike of a key, and i don't take the time to really think about what i'm about to write. no worries though...her writing is MUCH better than mine!

i finished the book over the holidays and decided that i wanted to get one for all my friends to read. then i remembered that i'm 27 and poor. i thought that i could mail it to one friend and then have them send it on to the next friend. but that just automatically means that i am never going to see my book again. it is so good that i can't actually part with it. plus i underlined my favorite lines and starred passages that i want to remember. i'm holding on to my book.

so

all this to say....go buy the book. it is $12.40.

i'm back!

i actually got back a week ago, but last week when i tried to post my computer wouldn't let me.

let's be honest...i gave up after trying twice.

tonight i fixed the counter. not sure what was wrong with it. and i took down the christmas music. sad i know, but it is january 12th.

there are so many pictures to show, stories to tell and a video of my brother's driveway. you will understand why i got video footage of it when you see it!

but for now....just know that i'm back, and the updates will come!

vacay!

all my christmas orders are done, presents are wrapped and bags are packed!

nette and i grew up living in the same room from the time i was born til her senior year of high school. we each had twin beds and every christmas eve we would push them together or sleep in each other's bed. we don't have twin beds anymore and we don't share a room, but every christmas eve i go over to their house to spend the night.

i'll stay there tonight. we will wake up and see what santa brought. have christmas breakfast in our pajamas with mamaw then load up the car and head to birmingham! clint & brooke get jack the day after christmas, so we wanted to go celebrate with them!

i'll be in birmingham til next tuesday....then it's off to the BEACH!!!!! that absolutely deserves all caps!

a group of friends from college are going down to seagrove to ring in the new year!

my dad wants me to stay down there a couple extra days, so i'm not really sure when i will be home next. i'll have lots of pictures to share when i get home!

but for now....i hope y'all have a wonderful christmas and new years!!!

merriment...

i decided to make my own christmas cards this year, and had a brilliant idea to save them in picture format and just get them printed.

i'm working on a lot of orders right now, so i didn't think i would have the time to address them all.

plus...

sending that many letters can get expensive. especially when i think that everyone is my best friend and needs a christmas card from me.

so...

i emailed them this year.

don't be offended if you are one of my best friends and you weren't on the list. i got frustrated trying to find everyone's email, so i just hit send. i decided i could post it here instead.

in case you are wondering. i do realize that my nieces and nephews aren't my real children, but i love them like they are my own!

plus sending a solo pic of me just doesn't say merry christmas! although it would be funny!
